We are specialists in toe-puffs, counters and reinforcements for shoes. We are market leaders and we have been on the vanguard of our industry for over 30 years.

Timeline

1987

The beginning

Founded by Arlindo Henriques, Lusocal launched its activity in the parish of Romariz, in Santa Maria da Feira, selling footwear components by wholesale and manufacturing toe-puffs and counters.

In that very year, a partnership was established with Tecnogi an Italian supplier of jersey for toe-puffs and counters – whose high level of excellence is internationally acknowledged. Lusocal secured an agreement of exclusive representation for Portugal. As a result, at the very outset, the company was provided with the means to develop a product with regulating quality for the national footwear industry.

The first facilities of the company were limited to the basement of its own administrator’s house.

1990

First factory

Lusocal started to operate in a newly constructed pavilion, with the size that was necessary back then to accommodate the existing production equipment and an area dedicated to the storage of raw materials and finished product.

1998

Inauguration of Felgueiras unit

In order to guarantee greater proximity to one of the largest clusters of the footwear industry in Portugal, Lusocal opened a branch in Felgueiras, through which it has been ensuring more than half of its sales volume.

2001

New HQ facilities

In 2001 we moved to our current HQ facilities.

2006

First to offer special skiving in Portugal

In 2006 we became pioneers in offering our trademark special skiving of toe-puffs in Portugal.

2009-Today

PME Excelencia 10 years in a row

We were awarded the PME Excelencia award (SMB Excellence) for 10 years in a row.
